A successfully defended PhD thesis by K.S. Minkenova

Congratulations to the head of the cytogenetic research group of the biodosimetric research laboratory of the Branch «Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology» of the RSE NNC RK Kyrmyzy Minkenova on the successful defense of her PhD thesis and wish her not to stop there, strive for success in her activities, high achievements and awards!

On January 17, 2024, at the Dissertation Council on 24.1.013.01 (D 006.068.01) under the Federal State Budgetary Institution “All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Radiology and Agroecology” of the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” (Obninsk, Russia), K.S. Minkenova excellently presented her PhD thesis on the topic “Cytogenetic effects in populations of Koeleria gracilis Pers and Stipa capillata L., from the area of the Semipalatinsk Test Site, where radiological warfare agents were tested” for the degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences.

Ms. Minkenova started her career in the Department of Radiobiological Research of Animals and Plants at the Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology in 2001 immediately after graduating from Shakarim Semipalatinsk State University majoring in Biology. She took her Master’s degree in Biology at Pavlodar University and postgraduate studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The main works are devoted to the study of cytogenetic effects on plant populations growing at the Semipalatinsk Test Site.

We once again congratulate Kyrmyzy on the successfully submitted PhD thesis and wish not to stop at the progress made, new plans and their implementation!
