Outcomes of XVIII International scientific conference

April 14 through 15, 2023 the Kazakhstani branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University held XVIII International scientific conference for students, graduate students and young scientists ‘Lomonosov – 2023’, which forms a constituent part of the International Youth Scientific Forum ‘Lomonosov – 2023’ held by the Moscow University, dedicated to the role of the fundamental science in the development of the modern society. On behalf of the branch ‘Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology’ RSE NNC RK, 3 employees participated in the event – D.B. Biyakhemetova, O.O. Marchenko and R.G. Yermakova. The purpose of the conference was to encourage creative activity of students, graduate students and young scientists and involve them in the scientific research activity, in solving relevant tasks of the modern Kazakhstani society as well as to assist strengthening of educational and scientific ties between beginning researchers from Russia and Kazakhstan. Following the conference outcomes, D.B. Biyakhmetova was awarded a degree II diploma having spoken on the topic ‘Research into the background frequency of unstable chromosome aberrations in the Kazakhstani population’. Certificates of merit were awarded to O.O. Marchenko and R.P. Yermakova for being active participants in the conference who spoke on the topic ‘Modern concepts of a technique to determine organically bound tritium in environmental compartments’ and ‘Research into the vertical distribution of contamination with radionuclides in bottom sediments of water bodies at the Semipalatinsk Test Site’, respectively.
