Application of isotope hydrology method

«Isotopic Hydrology» coordination meeting of the representatives of analytical laboratories took place in the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria between February 3rd and 7th, 2020. Representatives of 25 different organizations successively using the isotope hydrology method, among those was the head of the Laboratory for Monitoring Researches of the branch «Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology» of the RSE «National Nuclear Center of the republic of Kazakhstan», M.R. Aktaev, took part in the meeting. The main topics for consideration were the experience in application of isotopic hydrogeology method in different countries and development prospectives, coordination and improvement of the monitoring of stable isotopes ratio in global atmospheric fallouts and in water of transboundary rivers. The initiators of event also provided their proposals on thematic researches for each region to observe climatic changes and arranged an excursion in the laboratory for isotope hydrology of the IAEA, where participants of the meeting were familiarized with work of the laboratory, hardware and methodological support and development plans.
