September 1 through 4, 2026, a technical meeting on the development of isotope hydrology laboratories in Central Asia was held at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Representatives from five countries, namely Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan attended the meeting.
A.K. Aidarkhanova, a head of the Monitoring and Ecological-Analytical Research Department of the branch office ‘Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology’ of the RSE ‘NNC’ RK participated in the technical meeting. As part of the meeting, A.K. Aidarkhanova delivered a presentation on the NNC RK and IRSE’s activities in the field of radioecology, the development of isotope hydrology in Kazakhstan, isotope hydrology methods, and the progress in this field.
