From 26 to 30 July 2026, A.E. Kunduzbayeva, Head of the Laboratory of Physicochemical Research of the Department of Radiation Safety Research, participated in the ExSoil International Summer School 2026 on the topic “Soil Erosion and Land Degradation in Drylands and Fragile Landscapes under Climate Change”, organized by Leibniz University Hannover (LUH).
The Summer School was held at Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University in Astana and at the A.I. Barayev Research and Production Centre for Grain Farming (Shortandy-1 settlement, Akmola Region, Kazakhstan).
The Summer School program included lectures and practical training sessions focused on modern approaches to the study of soil erosion, land degradation, and soil health conservation. During the training, participants acquired practical skills in assessing wind and water erosion, as well as evaluating the stability of soil aggregates.
Participation in the Summer School was carried out within the framework of the grant-funded project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Grant No. AR26194435, entitled “Assessment of the Background Levels and Migration Potential of Artificial and Natural Radionuclides in the Soil–Vegetation Cover of the Steppe Natural Zone of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
