Mapmaking, GIS and ERS: new challenges of the digital century

On behalf of the branch office «Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology» of RSE NNC RK Ms M. Abisheva participated at the First International Scientific and Practical Conference «DIGITAL REALITY: NEW CHALLENGES IN MAPMAKING, GIS AND ERS» that was held on November 7 and 8, 2024 at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

In her presentation «Comprehensive analysis of earth remote sensing data in the land monitoring (the case of the former Semialatinsk Test Site)» Mariya spoke on findings covering the application of up-to-date technologies to monitor land resources. The presentation aroused a lively interest in the participants and became an important contribution to the discussion of relevant issues in the field of remote sensing and geoinformation systems.

The conference became a platform for expertise sharing and discussions of novel approaches to the solution of challenges faced by mapmaking and geoinformatics in the digitization century.
