Nuclear Science and Technology

From October 7 to 11, 2024, the V International Scientific Forum “Nuclear Science and Technology” was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty. Within the framework of the Forum, the section “Radiation ecology and methods of analysis” was arranged, which discussed the main achievements in the field of radioecological research of former nuclear test sites, risk assessment, dosimetry matters, etc.

On behalf of the branch “Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology” of the RSE NNC RK, young scientists from the Department of Monitoring and Environmental Analytical Research K. T. Zhamaldinova speaking on “Application of the method of liquid scintillation spectrometry for the determination of radon in water” and R.G. Ermakova speaking on “Vertical distribution of 210Pb in bottom sediments of natural lakes of the Semipalatinsk Test Site”.

The forum participants noted the importance of further development of international cooperation in the field of nuclear safety and environmental protection.
