10th International Youth Pugwash Conference

On August 23 and 24, 2017 in Astana the 10th International Student/Youth Pugwash (ISYP) Conference “Global Nuclear Order: global and regional safety problems and cooperation prospects”. International Student/Youth Pugwash Movement is an independent organization associated with Pugwash Movement which is a Peace Nobel Prize holder (1995). This conference covered a wide range of problems and issues related to disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. The conference was divided into sessions where work groups addresses issues on the following subjects: “Measuring progress in disarmament”, “Future of nuclear non-proliferation, “New technologies and ethic issues”, “Safety problems” associated with the Northern Korea and Near East”, “Prospects of states in the field of disarmament and non-proliferation”, “Looking into the future” — challenges and opportunities for international institutions. Young scientists – Anton Shatrov, Zhanat Baigazinov, Pavel Krivitsky were invited to this event representing the branch “Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology” RSE NNNC RK. Our specialists presented reports on Semipalatinsk Test Site: nowadays and prospects as well as on the work done in non-proliferation and safety.
