A visit by the Russian delegation

As part of the longstanding partnership between the ‘M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University’ and the ‘National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan’, the branch ‘Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology’ RSE NNC RK was visited by the MSU delegation (Russia) on June 5, 2023 consisting of 5 persons headed by a senior scientific officer, Natalya V. Kuzmenkova. The participants were given fact-finding tours of the research reactor facility ‘Baikal-1’, the ‘Experimental Field’, ‘Tokamak KTM’, the exhibition hall of the STS history to familiarize with the history and activities at the test site since it was open as well as of the branch’s laboratory buildings. It is worth noting that MSU students, Ye. A. Logutenkova and S.A. Kadochnikov continued to familiarize with the National Nuclear Center, namely, with the radiochemical research laboratory of the Department of Radioecological and Biodosimetric Research under the contract by undertaking an on-the-job-training there. For a month, the branch’s employees will be sharing their experience in the field of radiochemistry and radiobiology, and the students will gain the know-how of the radiochemical determination of long-lived radionuclides. Hopefully, such events that have become a kind of tradition will be useful to both sides and continue.
