The employees of the branch «Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology» of the RSE NNC RK attended the working meeting for discussion of prospectives of joint researches in the area of use of nuclear and radiation technologies in agriculture, food industry, medicine and the areas of human activities

On the February 17, 2020 the employees of the branch «Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology» of the RSE NNC RK, L.B. Kenzhina and D.B. Biyahmetova attended the working meeting for discussion of prospectives of joint researches in the area of use of nuclear and radiation technologies in agriculture, food industry, medicine and the areas of human activities housed by the Park of Nuclear Technologies of ME RK. Kazakh National Institute for Plants Protection and Quarantine (Almaty), Pavlodar State University (Pavlodar), Park of Nuclear Technologies (Kurchatov) took part in the conference. Use high-quality productions with physical factors used, in particular, of ionizing radiation is based on interdisciplinary fundamental researches at the confluence of physics, biology, medicine, chemistry and etc. That is why, different aspects in use of radiation technologies were involved in the discussion, including fundamental researches of different types of radiation exposure impact on microorganisms, agents of disease, insect pests, plants, animals; norming issues; dosimetry and radiation safety; effectiveness of exposure when treating different kinds of farm and food products; products safety and quality assurance; use of different physical methods and combined technologies to treat farm and food products. Considered possibilities for cooperation will allow to get more opportunities to achieve the shared goals, aimed at scientific and technical development, exchange of knowledge, education and consensus-building in peaceful use of nuclear energy.
