Radiation Safety Training Course

From July 29 to August 2, 2024, on the basis of the branch “Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology” of the RSE NNC RK, online training course was held on the topic: “Special training of personnel responsible for ensuring radiation safety. Radiation protection and safety”.

28 employees of the RSE NNC RK and its branches took part in the training. The training course program was aimed at improving the competence of personnel in the field of radiation safety, improving the level of knowledge of the RK legislative framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the basics of nuclear physics, biological effects of ionizing radiation, methods of decontamination and the study of radiometric and dosimetric devices. Special attention was paid to the types of hazards in radiological accidents. The course also included a practical part, where participants mastered methods for calculating internal radiation doses and the thickness of protection against ionizing radiation.

At the end of the training course, an assessment of the acquired knowledge was carried out through testing, the results of which will be issued the standard certificates.
